Congratulations

The College wishes to acknowledge and congratulate the following students for their outstanding achievements in their respective sports:

 

Jack Dwyer (Year 12): On Tuesday this week, Jack was announced in the Australian U18 Water Polo Team. Jack will wear the green and gold for Australia in the upcoming FINA Youth Men’s World Championships, set to be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 11-19 August 2022.

 

Nicholas Macher (Year 9) and Jack Taylor (Year 9): Both Nicholas and Jack did extremely well representing the College in the NSW CIS Team at the NSW All School Swimming Championships. 

 

Nicholas won silver in the 14 Years 400 M Freestyle event, silver in the 14 Years 400 M Individual Medley event and a bronze in the 14 Years 200 M Backstroke event, while Jack won bronze in the 15 Years 50 M Freestyle event. 

 

These outstanding results will see both boys progress to the Australian All Schools Swimming Championships held in Brisbane later this year as representatives of the NSW Team.

 

Last Wednesday 8 June, six students from the College represented ISA at the NSW CIS Cross Country Championships at Eastern Creek Raceway. Results are as follows:

 

U18 – Matthew Ibrahim placed 22nd 

U17 – Jonathan Meaker placed 4th and Oliver Xuereb placed 44th

U16 – Bailey Leighton placed 6th 

U12 – Marcus Germanos placed 25th and Scott Dunlop placed 27th 

 

A special acknowledgement to Jonathan Meaker (Year 12) and Bailey Leighton (Year 10) who have now been selected for the NSW CIS Team and will complete at the NSW PSSA - All Schools State Cross Country Championships at Sydney Motorsport Park on Friday 22 July 2022.  

Winter Sport Training Arrangements for the End of Term 2

Training sessions will go ahead as per schedule for the remainder of this term for all teams up to and including Wednesday 22 June. All students engaged in winter sport will participate in one training session only (their team’s first training session of the week) in Week 9 of Term 2.

 

Winter sport training will resume upon return to school on the first day of Term 3, Tuesday 19 July.
