The Long Walk

Thank You to our Education Support Staff

The Heart of Our Classrooms

Last week, we celebrated Education Support Staff Appreciation Day.

This special day is an opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate the important contribution Education Support Staff make to student learning and wellbeing at GRPS.

A lot of the hard work that Education Support Staff  do is clearly visible. Whether that’s standing at the school gates, welcoming children, or helping in the classroom. And, as most teachers know, this work is often the difference between a good lesson and a great one.

Of course, this isn’t to forget the impact that Education Support Staff  can have on individual children. For young learners with special educational needs, having an extra helping hand can be the difference between success and failure.

It’s often said that Education Support Staff  are the glue that holds the classroom together. And, not unlike glue, a lot of the hard work that Education Support Staff  do can sometimes be taken for granted. Many of their day-to-day jobs are key to ensuring that schools run smoothly.

We also would like to acknowledge our wonderful Office Staff who are always so welcoming to our community.  Georgia with her bubbly personality, Carly with her broad smile and knowlede of everything GRPS, Claire with her attention to detail, Nic cooking up a storm in the canteen and Jo-Anne who is a whirlwind with the renovations and her astute financial brilliance keeps us all in check.

So, after giving us so much of their time and effort, we think it’s about time we stopped to say thanks for going above and beyond.

We couldn't survive without you!

The Long Walk

The Long Walk is a charity inspired by Michael Long's walk to Canberra to get the lives of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people back on the national agenda.

Our Indigenous Students and School Captains proudly represented our school at the local event on Tuesday. Please read the page in our newsletter for more details of this important day.

Our Fundraising page has some delicious cadbury chocolate opportunities, and the Well Being page is full of some news to share.

Take some time to read through the wonderful pages in our school newsletter to discover all the events coming up.

Enjoy the long weekend with your family and friends.
