EXAMS

Congratulations to all students in Years 10 - 11 who have completed their exams over the last two weeks. These important assessment tasks provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their learning this semester; this will greatly help them prepare for the challenges they will face in Year 12. We encourage all students to look beyond the overall grade, carefully consider their strengths and areas for improvement, and act upon the feedback provided by teachers.

VCE ORIENTATION WEEK

All students undertaking VCE studies in 2023 will begin their work next week by attending Orientation Week classes in their chosen subjects (commencing Monday 28 November). It is critical that students attend all orientation classes with a commitment to work hard. Participating in Orientation Week and completing all holiday homework is essential for establishing solid foundations for success in 2023. Students are required to wear full school uniform. Please note that Year 9 Students undertaking a VCE Subject in 2023 will be required to attend double periods (Period 5 and 6) only. They will be required to walk to MAIN Campus at the beginning of lunch.

JUNIOR SCHOOL BOOKLISTS

Booklists for 2023 can now be completed online through Campion Education. The link is on the College website or can be accessed here.  Families will need to create an account (if they don't already have one) and if prompted, the 4-digit code is 4WMD.  If families would like their orders home delivered during the summer holidays, the online process needs to be completed by Friday 16 December. Campion has included a set charge to cover the packing and home delivery costs.

 

For families interested in buying/selling secondhand books, information about the Sustainable School Shop is available here (the link is also on the College website). Please ensure you check the edition of the book on the booklist before purchasing any second-hand texts.

END OF YEAR ARRANGEMENTS

Families have been contacted about end-of-year arrangements for students in the Junior School. More details can be found on the Compass newsfeed.

 

The College will be conducting Presentation Assembly rehearsals on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 December. Students involved in these events have been notified. The last three days of the year (Friday 16, Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 December) are Curriculum Days and no normal classes will run.

YEAR 7 EAST CAMPUS INDUCTION - TUESDAY 13 DECEMBER

Current Year 7 students will attend the East Campus for a full day induction at the Campus in preparation for 2023. Students will hear from the College Leadership team, undertake a school tour and participate in an English text screening and sports activities. 

ELMS 2023 NOTIFICATIONS

All applicants have now been notified of the outcome of the recent ELMS Entrance Tests for Maths and Science.

CLASS CHANGES 2023

Due to the broad curriculum program we offer students at McKinnon, class changes for students year to year are inevitable. Whilst we do our best to minimise class changes, especially after the interrupted year we have had, in many cases this is simply not possible.
