Middle School

In recent weeks our Year 10 students have been preparing for their first exams which begin at the end of next week. Their subject teachers have provided Revision Guides that outline key knowledge, skills and vocabulary - as well as practice exams to help them learn to study effectively. At Year 10, the focus is for students to learn about the exam process; that is how to prepare for and attempt an exam, then most importantly to review and learn from feedback.

Last Monday, Year 10 students attended an incursion called Achieve Your BEST. The acronym BEST stands for Belief, Exams, Study and Toughness. The focus of the presentation was on best study practices as well as exam preparation and technique. These topics were introduced by establishing the importance of a growth mindset in developing good study habits, purpose and resilience in learning. In the coming lessons, students are reminded to refer to the booklet they received at the incursion for some study tips and also to the Revision Guides provided by their subject teachers.

We wish the students every success.
