CYBER SECURITY CHALLENGE
How good are the sleuthing skills of our Year 7 students? The ICT department decided to find out. All our Year 7 students have been enrolled in the “Information Privacy and Security - Schools Cyber Security Challenge” run under the Grok platform and developed by the Australian Computing Academy (ACA). Our current Year 7 curriculum includes a topic called Digi Kids, which focuses on being aware of the Digital World in which we live and the consequences of sharing information online, so this challenge fits in perfectly with this topic. This is the second year we have had students from Year 7 taking part in this challenge and it is already testing their sleuthing skills, not to mention their resilience and determination. Given the current situation of students learning remotely, this challenge gives them the perfect opportunity to complete another part of one of their learning tasks at their own pace.
