KEEP WELL

I am hoping that each and everyone of you are well during this time.

INSTRUMENTS AT HOME

Most students who are hiring instruments, have now collected these from school. If you still do not have your instrument at home, please contact Head of Music, Ms Papworth (ppw@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au), or the Instrumental Manager, Mr West (wes@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au) to organise a time for collection to occur.

We understand that there may be maintenance issues for instruments at home. Please remember that your first contact would be the instrumental teacher (either at school or private instructor) who may be able to guide you through repairs, or advise you to the best way to get the issue sorted. [Instrumental teachers are keeping an ongoing tally of issues that they have fixed remotely].

ANZAC DAY

As you have seen through the media, this year Anzac Day was a very different one from those in the past with people commemorating the fallen in their driveway. An initiative that many of the brass students got involved with to help commemorate Anzac Day this year was “Music for Mateship”. Students were encouraged to download the Last Post and Reveille and practise in the days leading up to April 25. They were also encouraged to inform their neighbours that they were going to take part in this event at 6am on Anzac Day.

It was amazing to see the footage that students have sent in to show their participation in this community event.

For participating in this action.

VCE MUSIC

In the coming weeks the VCE Music Students will be presenting their Technical SACs online, and are also working through the power of technology to present their Unit 1 or Unit 3 Performance Outcomes for assessment. We are incredibly proud of the work that they are doing in isolation, and many are finding the added mindfulness fantastic with the extra time to practice.  We are incredibly proud of the work that students are doing and here is a small taste - Maskit Matityhau(Year 12) performing ‘Sunflower’ which is one of her Music Investigation pieces.
