Touch of Christmas Week (16 - 20 December)

In the last week of school, the Junior School Council have organised a week-long celebration of Christmas! Students are asked to come dressed with a ‘Touch of Christmas’ as outlined below. School uniform is still required to be worn, but by simply changing your socks, hat or by adding some decorations, students can come dressed to suit the daily theme. Please note that it is NOT compulsory to wear a ‘touch of Christmas’ and students can wear any ‘touch of Christmas’ if they don’t have anything for the specific theme. The only requirement is to have some fun and get into the spirit of Christmas!

Hay Fever & Thunderstorm Asthma

During grass pollen season people may notice an increase in asthma and hay fever. Grass pollen season (October through December) also brings the chance of thunderstorm asthma. Thunderstorm asthma is thought to be triggered by a unique combination of high amounts of grass pollen in the air and a certain type of thunderstorm. For people who have asthma or hay fever this can trigger severe asthma symptoms. 

If your child suffers from hay fever or asthma, please ensure they take any necessary medication at home before the school day commences and ensure that your child has a current asthma action plan.

For up to date information on epidemic thunderstorm asthma risk visit the VicEmergency website or download the VicEmergency app from Google Play or the App Store and set up a 'watch zone'.

Class Contact Lists for 2020

Previously all parents have consented to the inclusion of their contact details on our Class Contact Lists. We will assume, unless you tell us otherwise, that you are happy for your details to be included on the 2020 Class Contact Lists to be distributed via email at the end of 2019.

Book Club Orders Due 2 December

This is your last chance to order from Book Club for 2019. Keep the kids entertained with plenty of books over the summer holidays - perfect for screen-free time, long car trips, and quiet time.

Orders must be placed online via LOOP by close of business on Monday (2 December). For detailed instructions on how to order, please CLICK/TAP HERE. 

If you wish to place a ‘surprise’ order, please email Bonney Lewis via beaumaris.north.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au indicating that you would like to collect the order yourself and include your preferred contact number. Thank you.

Please note:  BNPS no longer accepts payment for Book Club orders - all orders must be paid by credit card online via LOOP  (orders that have not been paid via LOOP will be returned to you). 

Library Borrowing

All library books are required to be returned next week (Monday 2 - Friday 6 December). Currently we have over 531 overdue library books across the school. Please have a really good look for any outstanding books and return them to the Library ASAP.  

Please note that families will be asked to pay for the replacement of any lost books. Thank you.

Student Christmas Cards/Treats

Friendly reminder to note the following when sending in cards, gifts and celebratory food.

• If you intend on partaking, please do this before/after school hours - it is very time consuming for the teachers to distribute.
• Many parents are concerned about the number of treats that are given to their children without their permission.

Please note that students will not be permitted to consume any treats at school. Thank you.
