Protecting our Frontline - DSC Prints 3D Faceshields

Our College is lending its support to help protect frontline workers by printing 3D faceshileds for hospital staff members in Victoria.

We have partnered with Protectourfrontline.org to help fight against COVID-19 with this terrific cause to support our doctors, nurses, medical students, cleaners, chefs and anyone else working in the hospital setting who needs to be protected.

Remote Learning - SRC Views

We asked our SRC how students are feeling about remote learning. Here is some feedback from across the College:

  • Wellbeing support from teachers and the wellbeing team is appreciated.
  • Communication from the school and teachers has been excellent.
  • Routine has been good: setting class routines and sticking with it.
  • Students like short, sharp and clear lesson plans.
  • Students are enjoying breaks from their screens between Period 1 and 2 and at the end of classes

We are continually reviewing our remote learning program to ensure  children remain positive and focused throughout the day. Thank you families and students for your support as we progress through the Term!

The Last Post - Anzac Day

At dawn on Anzac Day, 10D student Ethan M honoured the Diggers by standing in his court and sounding the Last Post on his trombone. We acknowledge Ethan's efforts, together with those of our school captains who also took part in driveway vigils, to remember those who have served.

Canteen Makeover

Whilst students and staff have been remote learning and teaching, our maintenance team has been busy onsite upgrading the canteen outdoor area.

Upgrades include the installation of sweep fans to cool down the area during the warmer months. To soften the space, panelling and plants were also added (thanks to our helpful handyman Tom) and we would love to see some student creations to further enhance the green terrace feel.

Over the last few years, this space has seen lots of changes. It was once used for assemblies with three large steps running across the entire length of the canteen. But as student numbers increased, we outgrew the area. Other changes over the years include the addition of a deck, fitted benches and stools to create a relaxing space for students to unwind, study, eat and spend time with friends.

We look forward to welcoming students back to the College when it is safe to do so, and enjoy these new changes.

Construction Continues on our Year 7 Learning Centre

Despite some wet and windy conditions this past fortnight, progress has continued on our fabulous new Year 7 Learning Centre.

The new two-storey facility is due to be completed in Term 4 this year and will provide 10 general classrooms, two multi-use science rooms and a student toilet block.
