Spotlight on Art

Frida Kahlo Project
Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was the inspiration for Mrs Miller's Year 9 ceramics class, where students were asked to create a mask of her image.
Students looked at facial proportions and learnt how to build-up masks using clay. Due to remote learning however, students had to use other materials found in their homes to make their masks. Click through the gallery to see some of their beautiful creations!

MyPhoto: Inspiration is All Around
This term in Ms Patterson's MyPhoto class, students have been looking around their home environments for inspiration. They have learnt about a range of photography styles including landscape, portrait, surrealism, documentary and still life. See some of their amazing works in the above image gallery.
Student reflection by Kate C:
"I'm really enjoying MyPhoto as we are exploring different genres of photography. It's making me think creatively to come up with new ideas to use and express my own style. I'm having so much fun taking the photos and I'm pleased with the results."
