P-2 Village News

This week, the current Year Preps and Year 1's participated in a STEM challenge requiring them to build a boat that would stay afloat when a magnetic man was placed on top. The students collaborated in teams, where they designed and tested their creations. Discussions where had as to why the boats were successful or unsuccessful.  It was great to see that all the students would happily evaluate their creation and make the necessary changes, understanding the need to 'Try, Try Again'.

Prep's Visit to Spectrum

On Wednesday, the Prep's were taken on a short walk down the street, to Spectrum. Here, they got the chance to interact with Chinese elderly and sing some beautiful carols. Both the elderly and the Prep's loved the experience and as Isabella Xu (Prep) mentioned on her walk back to school, it was "the best day ever".

Choir Performance at the Zoo

On Thursday the 5th of December, the whole choir went to the Melbourne Zoo to spread some Christmas cheer. We sang jingle bells, Light of the World, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Do you hear what I hear, In the Jungle, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Star, One day and Away in a Manger. We also had fun looking at some of the animals and seeing what their habitat looked like. During different songs, some little kids would stand near the gate to go on to the stage and dance, it was really funny to watch them.
