Deputy Principal

Dear families,
Congratulations to all families on your amazing dedication to your children's learning. Even though this is a truly testing time, it is a credit to each and every person who is interacting with remote learning. Even as teachers we are constantly learning new elements of online teaching and hope that the content and curriculum are being delivered in an easily accessed format. We thank you for the feedback we have received about how best to meet your needs in terms of remote learning and look forward further streamlining the delivery of online content.
NCCD news
As we are nearing the middle of the term it is time for staff to begin preparing for our NCCD funding submissions. Every year we are mandated to moderate our decisions based on the needs of our students and their access to the curriculum. Part of this process is to inform families of the process around NCCD funding. I have attached a copy of an information leaflet for parents around NCCD. Please take some time to read this.
Due to the current Pandemic, staff are adjusting goals that have been set for children who have a personalised learning plan after feedback from families around learning at home. A copy of these updated PLPs will be emailed to families by the end of next week. This will give families an opportunity to read the goals and information provided in the plan in preparation for feedback at the PSG/Parent Teacher meetings at the end of the term for funded students. Please contact your child's teacher if you do not get a copy of your child's PLP (NCCD students only).
COVID-19
As we begin to move into the colder months it is without fail that the sniffles will begin to emerge. The current weather is not helping either, surprising us daily with changing weather patterns. In light of COVID-19, we continue to put in place protocols for anyone entering our site such as hand and environmental (tables, chairs, hard surfaces) sanitising and social distancing. If you or your family members feel that you are experiencing any symptoms of Coronavirus, it is important that you seek medical advice. We are lucky here in the Valley to have the availability of testing at EACH. I have attached the information of the screening clinics available in this area through EACH. Of course this is not the only testing facility in the area, however it is nice and close!
