New Staff Profile

Mr Chris Windley

I have joined Mazenod College this year as Commerce Coordinator, after three years at St Peter’s College, Cranbourne in the role of Senior Curriculum Leader. My subject specialisms are Business Management, Accounting and Economics.

I am a mature age entrant to teaching, having commenced my teaching career at De La Salle College in Malvern after running my own Accounting practices in Australia and New Zealand for more than 20 years. As an old boy of De La Salle myself, along with my four sons who also attended De La, I’m looking forward to being back in the ACC family.

During my time at De La Salle, I held the VCE Coordinator position and was involved in several ACC sporting teams. Notably, I was the De La Salle swimming team coach for five years, overseeing a team rebuild which commenced with promotion from Division two and culminated with Division one success in the pool.

As a keen lawn bowler, I have tasted success on the green with my son in the last twelve months, teaming to win the Champion of Champion pairs title in the Strzelecki region in 2019. At the time of writing I have made it through to the semi final stage of the State Singles championships, also in the Strzelecki region.

When not on the bowling green, I love spending time with my wife (Gab), four boys (and partners!) and three wonderful grandchildren.

Ms Sandra Begazo

I have taught for 10 years at The MacRobertson Girls’ High School. I taught VCE Chemistry and Maths as well as Middle School Maths and Science. In my time there, I was involved in a range of leadership roles. I have been Year 9 and Year 10 Co-ordinator for a number of years as well as The Head of Middle School. In 2019, I undertook a year of CRT and some contract work. This gave me an opportunity to work in a variety of local schools such as Mazenod College and John Monash Science School. A more recent in-service I found particularly helpful was a lecture by Yong Zhao “World Class Learners”. Before secondary teaching, I spent some time working for The Monash Science Centre delivering educational programs.

I am a long - time member of the local Parish Community. For the past 15 years I have been a volunteer and committee member of an Italian Club based in Mulgrave. In my own time, I also enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends as well as walking our family dog. I have two young boys, who have just started their own schooling journey at a local Catholic Primary School. I also enjoy travelling both overseas and around Australia. This summer break, my family and I spent some time at Philip Island, enjoying the beach and attractions.
