Science, Inquiry & Wellbeing

Science

This Term Year 1 and 2 children will be experimenting and exploring water and its uses. They will have a chance to look at water cycles, caring for the environment and conserving water and participate in experiments revolved around condensation, lightning, rainbows, bubbles and sundials!

Inquiry

In Term Four the year 1 and 2 children will be exploring the characteristics and properties of materials and components that are used to produce designed solutions, and will design and make a puppet with moving parts to use in a puppet show. In groups, children will be able to select a type of puppet that they would like to create and bring them to life in a puppet show!

Wellbeing

This term, we will be exploring 'Gender Identity' and 'Positive Gender Relations' as part of our Respectful Relationships program.  The children will be reflecting on their identity - their likes, dislikes and interests, and celebrating diversity in the classroom. We will also be exploring positive gender norms, challenging negative gender norms, and developing an appreciation of differences.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

We are continuing to practise our SWPBS values of being respectful, safe and responsible learners. We have been working hard to receive values tokens in the classroom and playground.
