2022 VCE Results
Girton Grammar School students have concluded thirteen years of schooling with outstanding VCE results.
With 30% of its Year 12 VCE students ranking in the top 10% of the State, Principal of Girton Grammar School, Dr Emma O'Rielly, said staff and students are extremely proud of these results.
"I am incredibly inspired by the resilience of our Year 12 students today. This year's full-time return to the classroom after three disrupted years of education due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for some students, compounded by wild weather and flooding events leading up to their final exams. They have shown intrinsic motivation, commitment, and community spirit in their approach to their schoolwork this year and we couldn't be prouder," Dr O'Rielly said.
Other VCE highlights for Girton Grammar School are as follows:
- 2 students achieved ATARs above 99, placing them in the top 1% of the State
- 2.2% of Girton's students finished in the top 1% of the State
- 6.7% of Girton's students finished in the top 2% of the State
- 14.4% of Girton's students finished in the top 5% of the State
- 30% of Girton's students finished in the top 10% of the State
- 63.7% of Girton's students finished in the top 20% of the State
- 3 students achieved a perfect score of 50 in Physics, Literature and English Language
- 13.5% of students achieved Study Scores over 40
- median ATAR of 82.7
"These excellent outcomes would not be possible without the focus, expertise and professionalism of our teachers and the support of our Year 12 parents," Dr O'Rielly said.
"Our families value their child's overall happiness and wellbeing equally alongside academic achievement, and at Girton we favour a holistic approach to social, emotional and academic learning."
"The release of VCE results focuses our attention on academic outcomes and it is so important to recognise the excellent achievements of our students," she said.
"However, personal success is about much more than study scores. Beyond their academic studies, our Year 12 students have been leaders in their final year, participating in various interests and initiatives beyond the classroom in areas such as music, drama, sport, co-curricular, and community service."
"The importance of pursuing a rich and varied life is one of the most valuable lessons we can instil in our students. We hope that these experiences and their excellent academic achievements have equipped them with the contemporary skills, knowledge and values to shape a successful and joy-filled future and positively contribute to society."
