Principal's Report

Dear Families,
Welcome back to a very exciting Term 4 at Toolamba Primary School. We've packed the calendar with many exciting events and are keen to see our students thrive over the next three months!
I hope that all families had a great break and got to enjoy some activities in abnormally wet conditions. I watched the amazing Kyabram District League A Grade netball vote count with Bree Giles (Tallygaroopna) claiming the Best & Fairest with Sarah Maskell (Shepparton East) being runner up, both staff members play Goal Defence for their respective teams! Bree was able to combine this individual award with a premiership. Well done Bree and Sarah on amazing seasons!
School Swimming Program
We have had a great time at Aquamoves this week with the students building a very important skill. It has been great to see so many parents come along to watch the students in the pool. The Aquamoves staff have been great in reassessing the students swimming abilities and ensuring that they are in an appropriate level. Thanks to the parents who make change time easier by having all items labelled, as you can imagine the changerooms are a busy place and having everything named really helps.
Parent Teacher Interviews
A reminder that we have a Curriculum Day on Monday for our Student-Parent-Teacher Interviews. We look forward to seeing parents and students. This is a great time to catch up and discuss the plans for the remainder of term and how we plan our transition to 2023. If you haven't already booked in, please do so. If Monday doesn't suit, teachers have times available through the week.

Concert
The concert is also quickly approaching. We are keen to see our students come together for this performance. The format is a different to previous years with the stage behind the Junction Hotel being our venue. We are hoping for a sunny day for this event!
Frog Bog
As part of our Bushfire Preparedness Program we engaged an arborist to inspect our trees. Over the weekend, he tidied up many treetops but has identified a tree that requires removal. This will be happening on Saturday 8th October . The Frog Bog has been 'flagged off' as the tree could fall at any time. The students are being kept away from this area but if you are visiting the school grounds before it's removal, please keep away from this area.
Pie Warmer
Just a reminder there are no pie warmers this term. This is offered in terms 2 and 3 only. Breakfast club will continue to run until the end of the year.
Student Achievement
Rachael Jeffers and her Level 4 team from Jets Gymnastics Shepparton have qualified to compete at the Victorian Junior Gymnastics Championships in Geelong on 21-22nd October. They're amongst the top 16 teams from all across country and metropolitan Victoria, competing for the title of Level 4 Junior Victorian Champion.
A huge achievement for a little country club, testament to the girls' determination, dedication and passion for their sport.
Qualifications were held in Albury in September, with Rach's team placing 2nd in all apparatus', Vault, Floor, Bars, Beam, and All Around.
Rachael trains for 14 hours, 4 days a week, and has another competition in Melbourne this Sunday in preparation for the Victorian Championships.
Well done on all of your hard work!
Have a great weekend,
Craig
