Senior School Summer Sport Photos: Ordering Online 2022 – Correct Shoot Key

Unfortunately, the incorrect Shoot Key was disseminated to the St Patrick’s College community in recent editions of the Especean. Thankfully, Leading Image has forwarded the correct information which should now enable our parents/carers to order relevant photos. Please see below.

Parents can use the new Grid View to see all group photos on one screen. There is also a new Favourites feature which allows parents to click the heart in the top right corner of a photo. When they click on the Show Favourites tab, only the photos which have the heart highlighted will appear. Group photos are $12.00 each with one postage and handling fee per order.

To purchase:

Orders will be sent to parents directly, not to the College and will incur one postage charge per order.

Parents are advised that if they are experiencing any difficulty in ordering they can ring the Parent Hotline on 1300 084 586 for advice.

‘Back to Breen Day’

On behalf of the wider St Patrick’s College community, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful supporters and helpers that turned out last Saturday to celebrate a great day of community and sport. Spectators were initially treated to a resounding 7 – 0 victory by the First XI Football Team in their Semi-Final match against Redlands. Not long afterwards, we were all treated to a spectacular performance by our First XV in their comfortable 52 – 0 win over Kinross Wolaroi School. It was extremely pleasing to see so many Old Boys come back to their Alma Mater and share in the fantastic atmosphere; “Once a Pat’s Boy, always a Pat’s Boy”.

Thank you to Year 11 student Luca Gittany who took this fantastic aerial shot of Breen Oval and surrounds during Saturday’s action.

Mock Trial

Last Thursday evening, the College Mock Trial team welcomed St Ursula’s College onsite for the first Elimination Round in the Mocklaw Schools Competition. The St Patrick’s College team won in a tight trial and have progressed into the Final with 16 schools left in the competition. Next Trial will be against Tangara School for Girls in the coming weeks.

Senior and Junior School Cultural Co-curricular Photos

Parents and carers are advised that their sons will be informed of the photo timetable for the College Cultural and Co-curricular activities via their Homeroom Noticeboards. Photos are presently scheduled to be taken in the Duffy Music Centre on Wednesday 24 August.

I would kindly ask that parents/carers ensure that their son’s winter uniform is clean and in good condition for the photos. Details relating to the purchasing of photos on-line will be forwarded to parents/carers via the Especean soon.

ISA Tennis Finals

Congratulations to all five teams that contested the ISA Tennis Finals last weekend. Divisions 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 were well supported by the St Patrick’s College Tennis fraternity and special mention ought to be made of the victorious Division 6 and 9 teams on finishing as ISA Premiers. We have an abundance of talent in the lower grades, and I am certain that they will continue to develop and pave the way for spirited competition in the years ahead, particularly in the higher grades. It would be remiss of me not to thank and commend Matthew Papavramidis, members of the First IV and the Year 12 players who have led their cohort in 2022. Congratulations and well done.

ISA Football Finals

Congratulations are extended to the large number of SPC teams that contested their respective ISA Semi-Finals. I would particularly like to highlight the lower grade teams that have played up a grade given a number of opposing ISA Schools graded their teams down due to their uncertainty of whether they could compete in their correct grade. Standouts would have to be our 13 E and 13 F teams who played in the ISA 3 C/D Competition along with our 16 Bs who have played in the ISA 16 A Competition.

This Saturday, the following St Patrick’s College Football teams will travel to Western Sydney Wanderers Football Grounds located at 81 Eastern Road, Blacktown to take part in the ISA Grand Finals:

First XI16 B13 A13 D
Second XI15 A13 B13 E
Fourth XI14 A

It is important to note that our 13 As will play our 13 Bs and the 13 Ds will oppose our

13 Es in their respective Grand Finals. This speaks volume for the very good football talent we have at St Patrick’s.

Parents, students, and wider members of our community are invited to go and support this Saturday. I know the boys playing will really appreciate it.

That said, all students, playing and/or supporting are to wear correct College attire. Please do not allow your son to attend in the wrong gear as he will be sent home. Furthermore, please adhere to the ISA and College’s Codes of Conduct. In short, let’s go and enjoy the fixtures and not get caught up in any negative cheering or worse still behave in a manner that that aggravates any situations taking place on the field. Hopefully we will hear some loud SPC War Cries take place at the end of each game.

Senior School Debating and Public Speaking Presentation Evening

Parents/carers and boys are reminded that the Debating and Public Speaking Presentation Evening will take place this evening in the Robson Auditorium. Parents/carers and boys are asked to arrive by no later than 7:00 PM for a 7:15 PM start. Boys are to ensure that they wear their full College winter uniform and have their school shoes polished.  Attendance by students involved with this activity is mandatory.

The College kindly requests that no visitors park in Hydebrae Street (which runs at ninety degrees from Francis Street and the Senior Library) at any time.  Its narrowness makes resident parking difficult and non-resident parking can present a safety risk by preventing the access of emergency vehicles.

Congratulations to Luca Tropiano and Sebastian  Lombardo

A big shout out to U 14 players Luca Tropiano and Sebastian Lombardo fromYear 8 on their selection to the NSW Blue Metro squad for the National U14 Championships to be held at Coffs Harbour from the 26 – 30 September. This is a significant milestone for both Luca and Sebastian as they will play against the very best    U 14 talent from all Australia’s states and territories. The competition also acts as a player identification process for the Australian U 15 squad for 2023. We wish both Luca and Sebastian every success and enjoyment as they represent NSW. Luca plays for St Patrick’s 15 As, while Sebastian plays for St Patrick’s 14 As.
