"Upwey South Primary School.....take a bow!"
Congratulations to everyone for your fantastic contribution to our whole school production, 'The Wizard of Oz'. We had two SENSATIONAL evenings of laughter, bravery, collaboration, joy and entertainment. You should all be so very proud of your efforts. The show has certainly been a long time coming....it was way back in October 2020 when I decided we would be doing 'The Wizard of Oz' and, although things did not go quite to plan, I am sure you would agree it was well worth the wait! I do not think we have had a single rehearsal in 2022 when everyone in the scene or dance was actually at school to rehearse. The pandemic 'hangover' certainly tested the student's resilience and patience. They deserve a standing ovation! I am so proud of every single student and I can't wait to do it all again in 2024! Please share this amazing feedback with them:

Make sure you pick up your order form from Janette in the office if you would like to buy a copy of the performance. Both nights are included in the cost.
In other news....some of our Year 5/6 students were entertained by students from St Josephs and Mater Christi (including our own Eve C) in an outstanding performance of, 'The Sound of Music'. The highlight for me was watching our students chat to the actors in the foyer after the show and ask for some acting tips (in the lead up to our own show). They represented our school with pride.
Victorian State Schools Spectacular
Our VSSS dancers enjoyed their first MASS rehearsal recently at H.E. Parker Recreation Centre, Heathmont and got to see their costumes for the very first time. A very big thank you to Mel Hutchings who attended this rehearsal with us and helped me to sort out hats, braces, gloves, jackets, jumpers and t-shirts.
We have less than two weeks before we perform. Make sure you grab your tickets and come and support our talented USPS students. Tickets are available through Ticketek: www.ticketek.com.au/spectacular or 132 849. Adult: $40 Concession: $30 Child (U15): $20 (a $5.95 per transaction fee applies on all purchases)
For those students who are participating please take note of the final few rehearsal dates below. We will attend all rehearsals by bus, leaving school at a time to be confirmed.

Thursday 8th September
Rehearsal: 10am - 6pm
Friday 9th September
Rehearsal: 9am - 5pm
Performance Day
Saturday 10th September
11am - 10pm (approximate times only tbc)
Please note we are NOT providing transport on this day. You will need to make your own arrangements to get your child to and from John Cain Arena.
