WRITE A BOOK IN A DAY
ENTERPRISE CHALLENGE - WRITE A BOOK IN A DAY
An amazing 12 hours with an incredible group of students.
After being provided with their parameters at 8am on Thursday 28th, it was tremendous to see all three teams successfully complete this challenge, each producing a unique, humorous, cohesive and very well-written book by 8pm Thursday evening.
This task offers the ultimate challenge to students' teamwork, communication, digital literacy, creativity, and many, many other capabilities. To achieve the target of completing their book within 12hrs, students needed to develop new strategies for each of these capabilities, and put them in to place under intense pressure. The learning that comes with this will provide our students with many additional strategies to use in a range of situations in the future.
A special mention to our four team leaders for the day - Mia Trevethan, Jayden Douglas, Stella Whittle and Noah Rodriquez. Excellent work from you all!
A huge thank you also to our mentors who spent some time today providing valuable coaching and expertise to our students - Like Minds Alumni Aaliyah Trevethan (current School Captain), Katie Cronin (current School Captain), Riley McIntosh and Marty Cook, College Principal and published author Vaya Dauphin, Year 12 English teacher and former Like Minds English teacher Sally Henry, and English Teacher, Year 7 Co-ordinator and proud Dad Brock Churchill.
Well done to all involved. We are incredibly proud of your efforts.
