NEW TECHNOLOGIES CENTRE BUILDING UPDATE - COMPLETED

It has been a while since my last update on the progress of the building works. Students and staff moved into the third and final building of the new Technologies Centre at the commencement of Term 2 (Tuesday 26 April). Whilst it was safe to do so, and operationally sound to enable curriculum delivery, there were still some final touches. In addition, a lot of the landscaping around all three buildings had to be carried out.

I am very pleased to advise that whilst we still have not received the status of “practical completion”, the project is essentially complete, other than some administrative matters and minor items of work.

Students and staff are now enjoying these new buildings to the fullest, especially the modern accommodation and practical areas they provide.

Our old temporary accommodation within the McInerney Learning Centre (former gymnasium), which provided the interim spaces for these learning areas, has now been largely returned to its previous state. This will likely be the site of our next big building project as it is a great space for some innovative refurbishment works.

Since we began this building project, I have enjoyed sharing with you these progress reports and I trust the updates have been useful and informative.

We will officially open the building along with a formal blessing later this term.

This is my final building progress update.
