CAREERLINK TRADE TASTER PROGRAM

Throughout Terms 2 and 3, 16 Sacred Heart Year 10s have been involved in the CareerLink Trade Taster Program. The program has enabled them to test out careers in a variety of trade areas while still at school and get hands-on training, preparation for specialised careers and in-demand job skills. In Term 4, the students will complete one day a week of work experience in their trade area of choice.

On Tuesday, the students went on an excursion to the Construction Futures Centre in Belmont which is a fun-filled, interactive space for school-aged children and adults to explore the wide variety of building and construction career pathways. The students loved the hands-on and interactive opportunity to explore some extra facilities and technologies outside of North Metropolitan TAFE where their course is based. 

At the conclusion of the program, students will be able to go into their Years 11 and 12 CareerLink course selection with more confidence about the career they would like to pursue. We hope they continue to enjoy the remainder of the program.
