You're invited to come along to our Year 11 Drama student's production of Don't Fear the Cagebirds, two x one act plays adapted from Don't Fear the Reaper by Eddie Zipperer and The Cagebirds by David Campton.

(Poster by Charchi Knox-Lee, Year 12 Normandy)

Don’t Fear the Reaper follows a day in the life of the Grim Reaper - the day he gets fired due to people ending up in the wrong afterlife! He is forced to turn over his scythe to the new Reaper, Jeremy (formerly the Grim Reaper of Insects), but decides to steal the scythe and go rogue.

The Cagebirds is an extraordinary play that is set in a mental asylum in the 60s and a ‘cage’ with mental patients who all become confused until a dramatic climax in which we suddenly see reality. Six mental patients live in a locked room, each absorbed in their own interests and in placating the "Mistress" who takes care of them until a "Wild One" is thrust in among them. The "Wild One" talks of breaking out of the room to find freedom. She troubles the others who remain secure in their cage, and they all join against her in the shattering conclusion to this unforgettable play that offers eight actors an unusual opportunity.

Tickets are just $5 and available below.

(Please note: The play contains mature content, some coarse language, flashing strobe lights and confronting content).
