College Council

As one of the newer members to the school council, I have enjoyed learning the important processes of making positive changes to our school community over the past few months. Although the most recent meeting was conducted through an all-too-familiar online conference, it is safe to say that a lot was discussed and accomplished.

Throughout the evening, we looked at student achievements as a part of the school profile and compared MGSC to other schools in our area. It was refreshing to see that despite the effects of lockdowns in previous years, MGSC has remained a high-achieving school.

Other discussions included those surrounding new plans for future building improvements to the school. It was exciting to view the ways in which we can change our community to continually enhance the MGSC learning environment.

It has been eye opening to see the work that goes into improving our college, especially as a student. I have realised that before becoming a member, I did not understand the extent to which those in our community and “behind the scenes” work to give me and my peers an enjoyable and beneficial highschool experience.

I am looking forward to attending future council meetings and learning more about how MGSC can further improve for my peers and future students.
