Library News

Welcome back

Term 3 has begun with a flurry of activity in the library.  Classes have been visiting to select novels for wider reading, the year 7s have exhibited their Women in History assignments and VCE students have been presenting their oral examinations to their teachers.  Also on the agenda for this term, CBCA book week will be marked with a library trivia quiz. Details to follow in the coming weeks.

Harry Potter display

We currently have our Harry Potter books on display in the foyer of the library.  This fantasy series features themes of courage, friendship, love, magic and characters who are great role models.  Why not revist the series or discover book one of Harry’s wizarding world? Your journey to Hogwarts awaits!

New Resources

Six new Issues in Society titles have arrived. Each title is available to borrow in print and/or as an electronic download, via the library catalogue.  These new resources contain current and topical information, which can be used for assignments and debating. The July 2022 releases include:

  • Asylum Seekers and Refugees
  • Family Trends and Changes
  • Gender and Equality
  • Indigenous Health and Wellbeing
  • Self-harm and Suicide Prevention
  • Youth Crime and Justice
“Each book in the Issues in Society series targets a specific social issue and comprises a thoroughly researched compilation of the latest news, facts, statistics and commentary from trusted sources. Many titles cover a range of opinions on controversial topics, providing the perfect platform to provoke debate, stimulate critical analysis and encourage further research.”
