Start planning for Book Week

Term 3 is always a busy term for library activities as Book Week will be celebrated in Week 6 from 29 August - 2 September, 2022. We have many activities planned for the week, including our first Book Week character parade for many years.

Now that parents, grandparents and friends are welcome back to school events, we would like to hold a special activity for all our primary students and families to take part in. Over the next few weeks, discuss with your child which book character they could dress up as. Costumes do not need to be elaborate or bought from a store. Be creative and check the internet for a multitude of simple ideas. Of course, there will be some students that want to wear a costume they already own and that is absolutely ok. We will be encouraging our older primary students to work together and come as a group of characters from a well known book. The audience will have to try and guess the book title.

More details of times and date will be sent home in the next few weeks. After the parade, we will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair in the Library where parents can view and purchase a range of popular books. There will also be Christian books from Koorong available at the Book Fair. We look forward to a fun-filled week, celebrating books and the joy of reading.
