Year 8 News

Vermont Secondary College

It is great to see so many Year 8's involved in the sports and clubs this term. The Vermont Athletics Carnival is on Friday, so get involved there too. Dress up in your house colours and enter as many events as you can. Remember, every time you participate, it is a point to your house.

As we approach the end of term, there are more assessments. Use your diary to organise your homework and revision. If you are not sure how to revise and prepare for tests and CATs, please ask your teacher for advice or visit us in the Year 8 Student Managers’ Office. Whilst assessments can be daunting for some of you, remember that they are a snapshot of your progress and that they help you to make goals for your next PB.

Study Skill Tip:-Explaining helps learning.

When you explain something to someone else, it helps you to learn.

Try explaining what you are studying to someone in your house. If you understand the work, you will be able to do it easily, but if you are not quite there, then you will find out what you still need to revise.

Remember that balls are available from office for recess and lunch!

Make the most of each day!
