WELCOME TO NEW COLLEGE COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR 2022
Firstly, we still have a one 1 year parent vacancy remaining. If interested and you feel that you would like to contribute to the broader college please contact Kerry Hutchison in the General Office directly about this position.
On Tuesday night we meet for the first time with the newly formed VSC Council for 2022.
Thank you to all the parent members for your support of your children’s education and of the broader college, greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the staff and students who have chosen to support the college.
Congratulations go to the following parents for their appointments on Tuesday night to the following roles –
Chirag Patel – Council President
Kath Moynihan – Council Vice-President
Frank Drost - Treasurer
VSC Council comprises four groups:
Parents (6), Department of Education & Training (DET) employees (5), students (2) and community members (co-opted up to 4).
The term of office is two years, half the members must retire each year and this creates vacancies for the annual school election.
Nominations for College Council closed at 4:00pm on Friday 25th February 2022
There were four parent vacancies (three for 2 years and one for 1 year) and three staff vacancies (two for 2 years and one for 1 year) for 2022/24.
Parents: Congratulations to Frank Drost, Kath Moynihan and Jasmine Majidi duly elected for the next 2 years (2022/2024).
Chirag Patel and Luke Low have 1 year of their 2 year term remaining
Staff: Congratulations to Mary Zervos and Brigitte Ankenbrand duly elected for the next 2 years (2022/2024). Kelly Stals has taken the 1 year vacancy available while Cara Macfarlane has one year of her two year term remaining.
Elected Student Representatives: Heidi Ma Year 11 & Tomasz King Year 12
Community Members (Co-Opted) - School Captains Year 12: Mandela Russell and Zachary Port
STUDENT ABSENCE AND WORK TO BE COMPLETED
Teachers have been receiving many emails from parents/guardians, informing the relevant teacher about their child's absence, often due to COVID, and requesting that the staff member email their child some work. Please be aware that all work/lesson plans are posted on Compass by the classroom teacher and the student can check the Compass lesson plans for work requirements/work to be completed.
If further clarification is needed, then the student can contact the teacher directly on Compass or on Teams.
THE ANNUAL YEAR 7 BBQ - PARENT EVENING – ‘DINNER ON THE DECK’ – FRIDAY 25TH MARCH!
A reminder about the upcoming ‘Dinner on the Deck’ next Friday 25th March, commencing at 6:00pm for Year 7 students and their families.
The venue will be on the Year 7 deck and the lawn in front of the Fallon Centre. Parents are advised that this is an alcohol free event. We envisage the event will conclude by 8:00pm.
We look forward to your attendance at the ‘Dinner on the Deck’.

A reminder that Term One concludes on Friday 8th April with a 2:30pm dismissal time.
Term 2: Tuesday 26 April to Friday 24 June (9 weeks)
Term 3: Monday 11 July to Friday 16 September
Term 4: Monday 03 October to Tuesday 20 December
