Twilight Sports practice and Netball Clinic

This term, the Preps will be working on increasing their motor skills as well as learning the sports they will participate in during our Twilight Sports Carnival. We have been working hard at following instructions and running in a straight line for a 40m sprint and a 40m relay. The Preps are super fast!

The JLC class has been preparing for our Twilight Sports Carnival especially for the 40m sprint and relay. We have learnt the butterfly grip for receiving a baton and focusing on how we pass the baton to the next person in our relay team.

The Yr 3/4s have been practising their 60m sprints and relay as well as learning how to do the hurdles. This is a big step for some students as running at high speeds and jumping over a hurdle can be challenging but we are building confidence and the right technique to complete this track event.

The Yr 4/5/6s are fairly practised in our Twilight Sports events, so in addition to recapping on what each event is and how to do it, we have been learning how to organise others for the event by supporting the teachers sort out how the younger children will move between each event.

We also have been lucky to have a whole school Netball clinic on four Thursdays this term. To say the kids have been enjoying it, is an understatement. This has been such a fun way to engage all children in a sport they may have not played before.

Kind Regards
