Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

During last week, I received a letter from Marcellin College regarding a previous St Bridget's student who attended their college.

Hugo Beale graduated from St Bridget's in 2015 and completed his VCE in 2021. In their letter, Marcellin were proud to announce that Hugo achieved a score of 93.3.

A copy of Marcellin's letter is attached for your information.

In response to this, I thought to touch base with his family and received the following feedback .

"Hello Robyn,

That’s lovely of Marcellin to contact to you and to specifically mention Hugo in their message. We were all pleased with his ATAR of 93.3 especially after a challenging two years. The excellent care and base to his education that he received from St Bridget's was and is fundamental in his ongoing success as a student.

It was always a pleasure to be associated with St Bridget's who endeavoured to inspire their students to academic, spiritual and community minded goals.

I wish St Bridget's all good fortune for the future.

Thanks

Madeline Beale "

It is lovely to receive such wonderful feedback from one of our secondary feeder schools as well as from one of our previous parents.

Recently, I prepared our Annual Action Plan for 2022 which details our priorities and goals for the year. A copy of this plan is attached for your reference. If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to contact me.

This year we have embarked on a special project titled 'Building a change making community'.

We are part of a pilot where our students will be taken on a journey to learn about how to create meaningful change in the world. This journey will culminate with the entire school community, led by the students, solving a real-world problem, somewhere in the world that will change lives forever.

Refer to the below link which provides an overview of the project.

The students spend one hour each Friday learning about how to build a change making community.  I encourage you to ask your child what they have been learning.

The students voted on which project they would like to undertake and we have been allocated our second preference, which is building a library for the community of Rawalpindi, Pakistan.  Obviously as a small community, it will take us some years before our goal becomes reality but why let our size be a barrier to helping others.

Click on the following link to see how you can get involved. When you purchase any of the items available a portion of this goes towards our goal.
