Junior Secondary 1

Welcome to Term 1, 2022. This semester JS1 is exploring books by Roald Dahl. We have been reading James and the Giant Peach. As part of our book study the class has talked about the characters in the book. The characters included James, his mean Aunts, an old man but he spent most of the book with his insect friends. These friends included a centipede, a spider, an earth worm, a ladybug, and a grasshopper. We have also discussed where the peach landed in New York.  The peach landed on top of the Empire State Building. This led to discussions about the tallest buildings around the world and in Queensland. We compared the height of the Empire State Building to the height of Queensland’s tallest building Q1. The Empire State Building is 443.2m tall while Q1 is 245m tall.
