School Council

School Council 2022

It is with an uncharacteristic loss of words that I express both my sorrow and understanding that two of our most enthusiastic school volunteers and leaders have decided to step back from school volunteering responsibilities. With professional needs and work ramping up for people it is important people can step back and focus on the needs of themselves and their families.

On behalf of School Council I'd like to sincerely thank Tash Colangelo and Paul Broadhurst for their contributions to the school and their considerable support during the past six years.

Tash has been a stalwart, informed and crucial member of School Council for the past six years and a passionate member of buildings and grounds. With a particular focus on the amazing improvements at Sprout. Always ready to get stuck into any project with a can do attitude and fabulous practicality.

Paul Broadhurst - Member of Buildings and Grounds for the past six years, providing invaluable expertise in the development of the STELLA building, the refurbishment of the main building and Sprout. Paul has been a wonderful contributor to the school and we are so lucky to have people of his calibre willing to give so much time for the school.

Plans, goals and getting on with it

At last week's School Council meeting, the first for 2022 we got straight into the serious business and discussed and endorsed the School's four-year strategic plan and the Annual Implementation plan (AIP). It was a very invigorating start to the year with School Council pleased to see a strong focus on learning goals, teaching and feedback and setting high expectations for both the academic growth and wellbeing of the students, our kids.

Once both documents are approved by the Department parents and carers will have a chance to familiarise themselves with the Strategic Plan and the AIP from articles in future Newsletters and by attending and asking questions at the Annual Meeting (to be held during Term Two).

To capitalise on the energy built through the discussions School Council decided to take some time to discuss our individual and collective goals as School Councillors for 2022. I'd like to share those with the community over the next weeks both to give you an insight into the passionate people volunteering their time for School Council but to also encourage you to please consider nominating to fill the vacancies on School Council and the sub-committees.
