Young Leaders Day

On Tuesday 8 March, our School Leaders travelled to Sydney to attend the Halogen Young Leaders Day.  Please enjoy the re-cap the students wrote and presented at assembly on Monday:

On Monday the 6th of March, all the school leaders travelled to Sydney to represent our school at National Young Leaders Day.
Our first speaker, Bronte Campbell is an Olympic Gold Medalist. She taught us to never give up and to listen to your body when it needs a break.
The second speaker was Josh Pyke, he is a musician and a children's book author. He taught us to always put your best foot forward because you never know who’s in the crowd.
The third speaker, Anthony Carroll (better known as Harries) is what made the popular TV show, Bondi Rescue so awesome! Harries taught us 3 things, 1. To value your life while you have it. 2. To stay safe and listen to instructions at the beach, and 3. that he is so amazing!
Our last speaker was Lachie Smart, Lachie is the youngest person to fly around the world solo. He taught us to work hard and to never give up on your dreams no matter how long it takes.
Overall, National Young Leaders Day was an awesome experience and it inspired all of us leaders to become better people. Through rain and shine, (although not much of the shine part), Through laughter and tears, (Charlee Adamson, I don’t think Harries has seen such an emotional greeting before.) Through Covid and floods, the day really taught us a lot about leadership.
