Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,
The day has finally arrived! We have had the remaining section of our new school formally handed over to us this week and Years 5 and 6 have moved in. There was much excitement yesterday as the students moved their belongings into the new learning spaces.
Many students thanked me for their new spaces and were in awe of the design and amount of room. Our Library is now spread over two levels and books that have been in storage are being placed on shelves.
It is an exciting time for the Year 5 and 6 staff as well. These grades have moved three times over the last few years and they have been very patient. Their focus has remained on learning and now they can finally set up their rooms and know that they have reached their final classroom destination.
There are still some outstanding projects throughout the school site that will be finished over the next six months. They are;
- A complete renovation of the Primary toilets is currently underway.
- The tiled roof of the old building is to be removed due to damage and replaced with the same colourbond as the new buildings.
- The multipurpose court and surrounding landscaping will be completed by mid year.
- The lunch area is having a makeover with more trees to be planted, more concrete and some artificial turf.
- The Henry Street playground will be underway shortly and will provide a variety of interesting spaces for students to play and relax in.
By the end of this year our whole site will be just fabulous. During the year we look forward to giving all parents and carers the opportunity to come and visit and see things in action.
Kind regards,
Jen
