Europe Past, Present and Future Tour,

The Europe Past, Present and Future Tour will provide the young people of Beaumaris Secondary College with the opportunity to bring history to life, whilst assisting them to learn valuable insights about the world around them. Travel offers life-changing opportunities that enhance maturity, confidence and independence. It can improve cultural knowledge; develop a sense of identity and global perspective; and expand life skills that arise from challenges occurring outside the familiar environment.

Travelling from Melbourne Tullamarine, our journey will begin in London (UK) where we enjoy a range of activities, including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, a West End Show, the Natural History Museum and much more. Moving on to Paris (France) via the Eurostar, the high speed railway service, students will get to experience the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc De Triomphe as well as the Louvre Museum and a cruise down The Seine. Additionally, the itinerary focuses on Australia’s involvement in WW1 and follows the Australian Remembrance Trail through Belgium and France. You will see first-hand the efforts of the local communities over many years to commemorate the Australian service men and women who fought so valiantly to protect their villages and communities. Groups will visit the sites of major battles featuring Australian soldiers, museums and memorials, famous cemeteries along with many other points of interest.

Our final stop of the tour will be in Brussels, where students sit in the European Parliament and enjoy a role play at the Parlamentarium. A very exciting trip that is packed with amazing activities that is sure to stay with these young people for a lifetime.

An information session will take place on April 28, 6.30pm to examine the itinerary in further detail. The trip will be available to students in Years 9 and 10 in 2021. Tour operators will also be in attendance on the night to answer and questions you may have.
