New Playground Finished

Last week our brand new multipurpose court and undercover handball squares were completed. Already these have been a fantastic addition to our playground and will enable us to better cater for different sports into the future. A big thank you to Mrs. Hanes for all her working organising these amazing facilities, what a fantastic asset they are to our school and will continue to be into the future.

Touch Football and Netball Gala Day

Last Friday some of our students from Stage 2 and 3 represented our school at the Armidale Diocesan Touch Football and Netball Gala Day.

St. Joseph's entered a team in the Open Mixed Division for students in Years 5 and 6. Our team had some great success in the extreme heat and were eventual winners of their pool, qualifying for the semi-finals in the afternoon. The result looked promising after we scored an early try, however the St. Ed's team were a little too fast through the middle, running away eventual winners and qualifying for the final.

I was very proud of our students. They represented our school with pride, showing great encouragement of each other and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Our Stage 2 girls who played with the St. Ed's netball team also had a fantastic day.

A special thanks to Heidi Hardaker from the Catholic Schools Office for all her efforts convening the Gala Day and also to Mrs. Lockwood for organising our students.

A fantastic day was had by all.

Have a wonderful week everyone, and remember that at St. Joseph's we are safe, we are valued and we are learners.
