General Information

Canteen 

The School Canteen has been well supported over the last 2 weeks. 

Parents are asked to double check the date of your order before submitting on Qkr to make sure the right day/week has been selected.

A reminder that no orders can be taken after 9am on the day of the order.

If you have not already done so please download the Qkr! app. Please make sure you have updated your child's year group on Qkr. This can be done by clicking on Profiles.

If you would like to volunteer in the Canteen please contact Mrs Lobban through the office or email alobban@arm.catholic.edu.au.

Stage 3 Lake Keepit Excursion

Please return excursion permission notes for Lake Keepit. If you require another permission note please contact the office. 

It is strongly advised that students should wear old clothes to this excursion and bring a change of clothes (including shoes), hat, towel, swimmers, water bottle sunscreen. Lunch is included in the cost and payment can be made on Qkr. Stage 3 students are asked to be at school on Friday 4 December at 8am sharp to ensure a prompt departure.

Year 6 Graduation Mass and Celebration Day

The Graduation Mass will be held for Year 6 on Friday 11th December at 9am in St Patrick's Church. An invitation has been sent home. Due to COVID restrictions students can only have 2 guests.  Please RSVP with names of those attending to the office.

Following Mass, Year 6 will spend the rest of the day at Scully Park Pool and Slide. Lunch will be provided. Signed permission notes should be returned to the office. Payment for this excursion can be made on Qkr!. Students will need to bring their Year 6 sports shirt, shorts, swimmers, hat, towel and water bottle.

Compass Parent Portal

If you have not already done so we ask that you download the new parent portal Compass. You would have received an email with an username and password in week 1.

After School Care

After School Care will be available at St Joseph's from Term 1 next year. The commencement date is expected to be 1 February 2021 subject to service approval been granted by the Department of Education. The service provider is Esteem Kids Group which currently operates after school care at St Nicholas, St Edwards and other schools in the region.

School Travel for 2021

If your child requires a bus pass or you have recently changed address you will need to update your details with Transport NSW. To do so please go online https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/updateDetails

Current bus pass holders should receive their bus passes for 2021 at the commencement of the new school year and will be sent directly to your home address.

COVID-19 

A reminder that students, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19, are required to be sent home from school. Students who have been sent home or  are absent from school because they are showing any signs of COVID-19 must stay at home and cannot return to school until they return a negative COVID-19 result. All results must be sighted by the school on the student's return to school.

With current COVID restrictions in place we ask that parents not send in food to share for birthdays. If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday individually wrapped lollipops would be welcome.

We also remind parents and carers that you must not enter the school grounds under any circumstances. If you need to speak to a staff member please come to the office in Denison Street. All children must be collected in the afternoon from the Crown Street gates.

Important Reminder:  School Hours, Pick ups, Drop offs, Supervision & Attendance

A reminder that school commences at 8:45am and ends at 2:50pm. 

The gate is locked for security reasons at 8:45am.  

If your child arrives to school after 8:45am a parent or guardian will need to sign the student in at the front office.  Students can be dropped off in the mornings at the Denison Street entrance or the Crown Street church gate entrance.  Only the Crown Street church gate is to be used for afternoon pick ups please. If your child is unwell, please keep them at home.

Clothing Pool Opening Hours

The clothing pool is open Monday to Thursdays 8:30am - 1:30pm.  

Term 4 School Fees 

A gentle reminder that school fees are now due.  If you have any concerns regarding your school fees, please contact Mrs Gardiner in the administration office.  Thank you to the families who have already paid.
