Sport Classes

Intro to the Outdoors

Students in Outdoor Ed have finally been able to get out and about. Over the past couple of weeks students have been developing their bike riding skills and knowledge. With a great effort by all, every student in the class managed to get to the top of Mount Baimbridge. They have also just started getting prepared for camp by setting up tents and planning their food and equipment list. Over the coming weeks these students will participate in canoeing on Lake Hamilton before their camp in week 8.

Year 7/8 Sport

Year 7 and 8 students in Sport have been participating in SEPEP (Sport Education Physical Education Program) where each student takes on a role/responsibility for the organisation and running of a sport program. Some of the roles include coach, captain, umpire, statistician, publicity officer and team manager. In Year 7 we have a girls and boys basketball competition and a speedball/cricket competition. In Year 8 we have a mixed netball competition. It is great to see the students develop their confidence and leadership skills at the same time as developing their knowledge of the sport.
