Product Design & Technology

Wanganui Campus

Product Design and Technology Students at the Wanganui Campus have completed their heating solutions. Students responded to a Design Brief, researched possible options, used emerging technologies to design and prepare the material, then used traditional methods to construct the product.

As an extension task students were challenged to value add to their designs and have made a small skillet that can be placed over the chimney opening. The heating solution meets the brief by facilitating a warm environment for five people and the skillet enables the end user to quickly cook a meal whilst entertaining!

The fire pit is also a result of the same Design Brief. It also meets the brief by facilitating a warm environment for up to five people. The value adding task on this product is the grill and hot plate. Special thanks must go to Lawless Lasers in Nathalia and Wunghnu. They provide a laser cutting service for all our student designs and take a keen interest in supporting student innovation in the Shepparton region.
