UNIFORM

This is a friendly reminder that term 4 is the last term in which the old college uniform can be worn. The two year transition period from the old to the new college uniform is coming to a close.

As of 2021, all students will be expected to be wearing the new college uniform. Please note the Bob Stewart store open times during this term and over the summer break, as the college on-site store will no longer be operating.

Summer Uniform

Please ensure your student is wearing correct SUMMER uniform!

For more information visit the Uniform Page.

Student wellbeing would welcome the donation of any uniform items suitable for 2021.

Notice of Intention to close Brighton Secondary College PFA

 Hi to the school community,

Although the Parents and Friends Association exists as a volunteer run body, it is not a requirement of any school to have a PFA. They exist under a permission space of the Minister for Education.

PFA’s can be started or stopped at any time there is the level of interest matched to whatever is suitable. Whether a school community feels the need to have a PFA or feels it can benefit from one is a matter solely for the school community.

All three required Office bearers of the current PFA - the President, the Treasurer and the Secretary, will be ending their involvement in those positions at the end of this PFA year.

Given the inability to run events this year due to our Covid 19 challenges, it’s fair to say that the momentum we’d been working towards over the past couple of years no longer exists.

As such, and with few non-office bearer attendees at meetings and no requirement for future events needing volunteers, we’re planning to close the PFA at our November meeting on Wednesday November 4th*.

If you feel that you’d like the PFA to continue (usually easier to maintain than to start again) then now’s probably the time to be involved to let us know that you’d like to keep it going for 2021. We’d like to thank the many parents and community supporters over the years the PFA has been running, across many past office bearers and volunteers, for all their work and involvement. We’ve contributed a number of things to the school to help make the student experience better, across every year level and all departments.

On behalf of Sabina Anderle our Treasurer and Tammy Freadman our Secretary, many thanks for your support

Marcus Barber

PFA President

Time: Nov 4, 2020 07:30 PM Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney

The meetings are open to all parents and carers and will take place via a Zoom meeting, should you wish to join please email the PFA:

We thank you in advance for your contribution to the school.
