SCHOOL UNIFORM

As we settle back into a more “normal” school life and move forward in term four, we are encouraging students to maintain high standards around the wearing of uniform.

Wearing of school uniform has been made compulsory by school council at Buninyong Primary School and this position has been taken for a number of reasons, including:

  • Making sure our students are well presented
  • Making life easier for parents
  • Helping children identify with our school and feel like they belong
  • Making it easy to identify students when we are on excursions

School Shorts:

The warmer weather is coming and more students are opting to wear shorts. Please remember that only school shorts with no logos or visible markings are to be worn at school.

We’ve noticed some students are choosing to wear branded sports shorts - please note these are not part of our uniform. Teachers will be reminding students of this and following up with families to support the wearing of correct uniforms at school.

School Hats:

Hats are also an essential uniform item this term. Students without a hat have restricted play space in the yard and must stay in designated shade areas. If your child has lost their hat, you can order and pay via QKR and your child can collect from the school office. If you call through to the office, delivery to their classroom can be arranged.

Hats and other uniform items should have no other markings or writing apart from the student’s name and school logo.

A copy of our uniform guidelines can be found on the school website

We thank you for your cooperation with this. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any further questions.

COVID-19 Update

It’s been pleasing to see a reduction in daily case numbers of COVID-19 across Victoria and things heading towards a more “Covid Normal”.

Please note that at this stage current guidelines in place around the operation of schools has not changed. This includes:

  • Limited access to our school sites (both Buninyong and Scotsburn campuses) to essential school services personnel. Please call the school office (5341 3560) or contact class teachers via email to discuss students or relay messages. To arrange early collection of students, call the office from the gate where an administrator will advise of the next steps.
  • Staggered dismissal times at the end of the day
  • Both staff and students are only permitted to come onsite if well. Any staff member or student displaying the signs and symptoms associated with COVID-19 should remain at home until signs and symptoms resolve and seek medical advice if needed.
  • If a student presents with signs or symptoms associated with COVID-19, parents/carers will be called for immediate collection. We understand that this may be frustrating as it can impact your work life and plans for the day, but rest assured we are doing this in the best interest of our whole community and their safety. Students can then return once well.

Just like you, we hope that this all resolves as soon as practical and thank you in advance for supporting the safety of our community.
