SCOTSBURN CAMPUS HEAD POSITION

Over the past month we have been working through a selection process to fill the Scotsburn Campus Head role for the coming 3 years.  Congratulations to Jarrod Morgan who was the successful applicant.  We know Jarrod will do an excellent job, building on the strong leadership provided by Shaun O’Loughlin over the past 6 years.  Jarrod and Shaun will work together over the remaining weeks of term 4 to manage a smooth hand over.

SPORTS COLOURS DAY

After a year of missing out on lots of things, we’re looking for opportunities to create some fun, and a good example is our Sporting Colours Day.  The kids really enjoy coming to school in their sports gear and get into the spirit of the staff vs students football match. It is many years between drinks for the students in this match, but in an unconventional year, anything could happen.

TUTORS IN SCHOOLS

No doubt many of you will have heard announcements regarding the funding of tutors in schools for the 2021 school year to support children after extended periods of  remote learning.  We have no detail as to how this will roll out, but expect to hear something from DET (Department of Education and Training) in the coming few weeks.  We’ll keep you posted as details are made available.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

It has recently been announced that we are now permitted to have photographers on-site to take School Photos!

Our photo days are scheduled for Thursday 19th and Friday 20th November.

There are changes to the way in which families can order photos this year, which will be through Compass. Keep an eye out for an email with more information from MSP in the coming days.

 ORGANISING CLASSES FOR 2021

Term 4 is slipping by and next month the process of organising students into classes for next year will begin.  If there are significant issues we need to be aware of when allocating your child to a class, please make sure they have been made known to Bernie, Dave or Scott by Monday, November 9th.   Teachers are meeting soon after to begin sorting children into classes.

It is not our intention to provide parents with the opportunity to select a teacher of choice.  We have developed a very strong teaching team and parents can be confident the needs of their child will be met by any member of our team.

Developing well-balanced classes is best for everyone and that can be made difficult if there are large numbers of requests – as such, it is important that  placement requests be founded on significantreasons and not related to specific teachers.

We try to accommodate parent requests with regard to student placements, but as you will understand, this is not always possible.

It is also important when we come to organise classes that we know of students who will not be at our school next year. If your family is moving on, please let us know as soon as possible.

PARENT SURVEYS

Thanks to those that have already taken the time to complete a survey.  The survey closes on November 13, so there is plenty of time to have your say.  As mentioned previously, the feedback provided through these surveys is very useful and helps us identify school strengths and weaknesses.  So if you are yet to complete a survey, please consider taking a few minutes to click on the link in Compass and respond to each of the questions.
