Walk and Wheel Wednesday Update

It's been another 2 great weeks of Walk and Wheel Wednesday. 6ST continue to lead the charge with more than 87% of students walking or wheeling to school. That is amazing and well done to 6JK, 6DF, 6LK and 5CB who are never far behind.

In the last two weeks 55% of students have walked and wheeled to school on a Wednesday. That is a fantastic effort! Thank you everyone and I imagine the streets around the school have been much quieter, making it easier and safer for the walking and wheeling students.

National Ride2School Day Sticker Competition

Two weeks ago you will have received an email from me outlining the National Ride2School Day Sticker Competition run by the Bicycle Network. The entry form and competition details were attached to the email.

The Bicycle Network are looking for new stickers for National Ride2School Day 2021 and need your child’s help! They want new stickers that celebrate the fun of walking, riding, scooting and skating to school and inspire even more students to get active.

The winning sticker design will become Ride2School’s official sticker and be shared in schools across Australia in time for National Ride2School Day on Friday 19 March 2021. Plus, the student with the winning design will win a brand new BYK bike for themselves and a healthy breakfast for their school.

Entries close at the end of next week on Friday 4th December.

If you have misplaced the email and you would like me to send it to you again, please email me at Julie.Tainsh@education.vic.gov.au

And to finish, here is the Walk and Wheel poem from Wednesday. It was written by Alexa in 4PR

There once was a girl called May,

Who walked and wheeled every day!

She never sat,

Or had a cat,

So now she shouts hooray!

Stay well everyone and stay active!
