Interschool sport

By Luke

At Interschool Sports on 15/3, we played against Lilydale Primary School. In basketball, Lilydale played really well but Kilsyth took home the win: 19 to 8. Lilydale played well and showed great sportsmanship, and we would happily play them again. Thanks for a great game Lilydale.

Bullying, No Way!

By Stralia

On 15/3 we celebrated Bullying, No Way! Day. We made a poster saying NO! to bullying. We put paint on our hands and marked it on a big piece of fabric to represent 'stop!'.

We also did activities as a school, including collaborative games and flag making.

Harmony Day Incursion

By Kayleigh

On the 19/3 we had the Harmony Day Incursion. A man named Sean came to our school. He is an Indigenous Australian and has been visiting schools for 29 years.

Firstly he did a gumboot dance. He then did an echidna dance. He needed some help so we all put out hands up. Sean chose someone to be the echidna and 6 girls from all different levels to be the hunters. They got to hold fake spears and pretend to poke the echidna.

The next thing he did was tell us about a Dragonfly dance and showed us that. After that he got some of the Year 6 boys to come up and lead the rest of the school in some well known dances. We all had to join in! After that he got 2 senior students to help attempt to light a fire by rubbing sticks together. It didn't work. Then Sean tried and it make smoke, and then he lifted it up and swung his arm in a circle and it made a flame!

We then thanked him for a great performance.
