Welcome Back Happy Campers

As I am writing this, the hum of happy campers returning is floating through my office window.  I had a great day on Wednesday, spending the afternoon with our middle students at Gundiwindi Lodge in Wandin.  From the photos that I have seen, and my experiences with them this week, our students had a wonderful time!  Check out our instagram or facebook page for photos!

Pupil Free Day

THURSDAY 28th MARCH

A reminder that all staff will be attending a Professional Learning Day on Thursday 28th March.  That is next Thursday.  Students do not attend school on this day.

Our staff will be participating in a workshop with Educational Consultant - Glen Pearsall.  Exploring effective methods of formative assessment.  Formative assessment is pivotal for great learning.  It is the assessment that teachers do, that they can use to modify their practice.  This might be something as simple as a response from a student in a class discussion, or a highly formalised test situtation.  Effective formative assessments ensures that your child is known and that teachers support them at their individual point of need.

COMFY CLOTHES DAY

A reminder of our Comfy Clothes Day on Monday.  Students can come to school in their comfiest clothes as a celebration of their great work over recent weeks reaching 3000 positive acknowledgements!  Well done everyone.

Highlights of a busy time

Harmony Day

On Tuesday this week , to help celebrate Harmony Day, we were joined by  Sean Choolburra. Sean shared an Indigenous performance. We were shown a variety of dances including the gumboot dance, echidna dance, dragonfly dance, and even his own creation ‘gammin style’.

What a great way to learn more about the Indigenous culture and traditions. Thank you to Sean for your performance, everyone enjoyed it immensely!

Bullying, No Way!

Bullying No Way!! National Day of Action Against Bullying was celebrated at Kilsyth Primary School last Friday... We all put our hands up to stay ‘Stop! that’s not okay’. This poster is a great symbol of us taking a stand together at our school. Proudly displayed!!

Student Representative Council

We are thrilled to have our SRC up and running again.  This is a pivotal part of our school's encouragement of student voice.  I am looking forward to working closely with our SRC this year.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!
