Ninna marni (Hi, How are you?),

Our school is developing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). As part of this, our school embraces a shared history and we work together towards reconciliation. One of the actions in our RAP is to 'Visibly demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures'. We commit to demonstrating our respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in our school and that making our respect visible through the incorporation of meaningful, relevant and culturally appropriate art, artefacts and symbolism reinforces our work toward reconciliation.

One of the deliverables of this action is the allocation of a wall in the Japanese room that is dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. I have relocated the Aboriginal map from the office area to the Japanese room, and added the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, some artwork, pictures and Kaurna words. Feel free to go in and check it out sometime, you can even learn the Kaurna words to the song 'heads, shoulders, knees and toes'!

Nukkun (see ya)!
