Facilities and Grounds Improvements
Over the summer break there has been work completed in the new recreation area close to the existing tennis courts and the basketball stadium has been completely refurbished.
There has also been an upgrade to the old Performing Arts building, that has included both internal and external improvements.
New seating, made from recycled materials, has been placed in the flag pole and playground area and a number of garden areas have been upgraded.
We will continue to improve areas across the school over the coming months.
Year 12 Retreat
Our Year 12 students attended the annual study retreat at Deakin University last week. By all accounts the students found the experience very valuable and it has assisted them to settle into the year ahead.
The activities that we included in the 3 days were: Study Skills, a visit from Ross Huggard who gave the students a valuable insight into the requirements of Year 12 English, a visit from The Resilience Project team, tours of the university and activities that enable everyone to ‘bond’ with their Home Group and Home Group teacher.
Thanks to Katie Wilson and her coordination team for the enormous effort in organising the retreat and to the teachers who attended.
Thanks also to the students who made it a great experience and to the parents/guardians for their support of the initiative.
Year 7 Community Time
This year we have introduced a new initiative called Community Time for all of our Year 7 students.
The aim is to enable our students to get together as a year level and be involved in activities that encourage greater connection to their school and community.
Period 6, every Friday has been timetabled for these activities. Further details can be found in the Junior School page
