Book Week!

Fantales with Fleur Ferris

We were thrilled to be joined by Author Fleur Ferris last Monday. Fleur spoke to our Year 9 students and took part in some fantales at recess with other students.

Pop Up Book Shop

Throughout Book Week we held a Scholastic Pop Up Book Shop! Students, parents and staff had a fantastic time purchasing from the extensive range of books, activities and novelty items!

The school earned $800 worth of book credit which we've used to expand our collection of picture story books and junior fiction.

Our Student Authors

We also had special guest authors and students Laura Ham (Year 12) and Aedan Lias (Year 7) read and talk to our Year 7 students. Laura spoke about her experience entering a writing competition and being selected to be published in "My First Lesson" an anthology of stories that captures the school experience written by real young adult writers.  Aedan spoke to his fellow Year 7 classmates about dyslexia, his writing, illustrations and his participation in the 2015 London Book Fair.

Aedan Lias also read his book Finny to our Year 3 students. The students asked many insightful questions about his writing process, his drawings, inspirations and much more!

Can you guess who I am?

Once again the Book Week Costume parade was a highlight for all! The costumes were exceptional with staff and students dressing as their favourite book character! Take a look at the amazing costumes below! See if you can guess what book they are from!

It's raining in the Resource Centre!

The 2017 Picture Book of the year is Rain, by Bob Graham.

To celebrate this book our primary students created a storm in Library Lessons and at lunch time.

Reading Time

Our Kinder students were joined by some of our Secondary students today for story-time in the Resource Centre as part of book week. Here is Isabelle Williams in Year 8 reading I Had an Elephant.

Take a look at Miss Stephenson's Year 3 students reading to Miss Atley's Kinder students last Friday afternoon!

Echuca Library Visit

Our Year 3 and 4 students had a great time visiting Echuca Library as part of their Book Week activities!
