Art & Technology Show

Art Exhibition

On Tuesday night, 11 October, St Bede’s College opened the student Art, Media and Technology Show for the fourth time in the Sports Complex.  There was an array of stunning works showcasing all talents in a variety of subject areas.

This year the show was opened by our Year 12 student Leaders, Michael Hurst, Bradley Shea and Joel Harriss.  They introduced each sponsor who award prizes and certificates in areas of excellence and encouragement in a variety of categories and year levels of the Visual Arts and Technology Department.  Displayed throughout the Sports Complex were an array of 2D and 3D Art, Technology, Systems and Engineering, Visual Communication and Design, and Media show casing the spectacular achievements of our student’s talents.

Unique and individual drawings, paintings and etchings complementing creative 3D materials and art were all on display indicating skills, creativity, individual responses to an idea and vision and life in general.  Along with Art were skilled, precise technical drawings and detailed computer designs from the Visual Communication and Design Department.

The Technology and Design Department (along with Systems Engineering) added a fresh dimension to the displays with some thought provoking Media concepts.

Well attended by over 150 people the night had colour, creativity, and conversation.  Music from the Music Department and great food and refreshments served by the Parents and Friends of St Bede’s College added to the occassion.  So, on behalf of the department, I once again thank everyone involved and for those who attended, particularly the students.  Without their contribution the show would never be possible.

To Jo Hynes - Old Collegians Office for your hard work in assisting with the setup of the Art Exhibition in every possible way which Mr Withers and his team, greatly appreciated.

Special mention must go to the staff, in particular, Br Michael Porter, along with the Parents and Friends Association, Thomson Real-Estate, Audi Centre Brighton, The St Bede’s Old Collegians Association and our Principal, Br Garry Coyte for their very generous contributions to the awards and assisting on all levels to make this Art, Media and Technology Show the success that it is each year.
