Congratulations to Josie Drum, who was awarded Dux for the 2020 cohort. Josie was unable to attend, however shared some wisdom with our current Year 12 through a speech that was read on her behalf. Josie focused on three key ingredients as the secret to HSC success; consistency, balance and trust.

We also gave awards for students who had shown excellent learning growth across all of their subjects. Learning growth is calculated by Dr John DeCourcy, who uses statistical analysis drawing on NAPLAN achievement and other factors to determine what students are expected to achieve in their HSC. Students who were awarded Learning Gain Awards achieved, on average, between 8 and 14 marks better than expected across all of their subjects. We celebrate this because it is a testament to commitment and dedication. Congratulations to the following students:
- Billy Chambers
- Jacob Collingridge
- Eve Conlan
- Ned Cooper
- Jamieson Coraci
- Annabelle Crocker
- Ellie Crozier
- Sophie Hanlon
- Callum Logan
- Tara Logan
- Grace Masterson
- Samantha Moloney
- Asha Murphy
- Sophie Quinn
Congratulations to all of these young men and women. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Kildare teachers and support staff for all the work that they do that contributes to our students’ successes. The efforts of staff last year, ensuring a continuity of learning and wellbeing, during the onset of global pandemic is worthy of particular mention.
