Firstly I must thank all the mums and dads who jumped in to help out in the canteen in last week’s very hot weather. If you ever need to man a Slushie Machine at a school fete, you’ll all be experts! 

The roster should be emailed out to everyone on Wednesday. As always, if you have a bit of time up your sleeve in the morning or at lunch time, please pop in and I’m always happy to have an extra person or two helping out.

Our Prep introduction to the canteen last week worked beautifully. I hope all of the Preps got a nice cold treat, and a more gentle introduction to the canteen than a busy lunchtime. Regretfully, we can’t stay open for sales on other days after 2pm as I need to count takings and clean up after 1.30pm closing. I look forward to seeing them all at the canteen when they are allowed to visit at a later date. Special thanks to Miss Atley who helped me behind the counter, and provided a familiar face for the Preps buying things.

We have a few items which have become unavailable recently. Beef Teriyaki Sushi is no longer being made, so please cross that one off your menus. Likewise, the $1.70 liquorice  straps are no longer being made, but we do supply an alternative $1.20 liquorice. Fruit Nuggets are also now unavailable.

Please note: Chicken Nuggets must be ordered as a quantity of 5 ($4) – this cost includes the a choice of tomato, mayo, sweet chilli or BBQ sauce, please don’t send 20 cents extra if ordering nuggets.

We are now supplying a cup of fresh milk with a flavoured Sipahh straw (approved by Victorian Canteens Association) for $2.00. At the moment this is ONLY available at the canteen window – not in lunch orders. 

Other items available ONLY as over the counter sales include, Slushies ($1 or $2), Jelly Cups (60c) and single liquorice straps (60c).

Finally, a reminder that we are a school canteen and often do not have enough small change (particularly on a Monday morning) to be giving change for large denomination notes. We often get $10 and $20 notes for lunch orders, and aside from the difficulty of changing them I also worry about young children being entrusted with $5 or more change.
