IN YOUR CHILD'S BAG…….
1. Rides pass order form
All children who have pre-purchased their rides pass or super pass will be fitted with their rides wristband (which cannot be removed) on Friday 13 March during school. If you have commitments that would not allow the wristbands to be worn (such as after school activities), these can either be given to you in an envelope or collected at the carnival. Please ensure that your children are aware of these requirements.

Junior Rides passes are $27 NOW and $32 on the day.
Senior Rides passes are $37 NOW and $42 on the day.
Super Passes are even better value, but get in fast as they are limited to 200 and are almost completely sold out.

2. Roster sign up
Your children will soon receive a hardcopy form to enable you to sign up for a shift. (If you haven’t already.) Please complete the form and return by the due date.
3. Raffle
There has been a delay at the printer …….
Your eldest child will receive the MPS Carnival Raffle tickets this week. Please look out for these tickets as all sold and unsold tickets and money must be returned to the office by 6 March 2015. This is a legal requirement..

4. Talent Show and Fashion Parade notice
If your child has been selected to participate in the Talent Show or the Fashion Parade, you will receive a notice from the co-ordinators outlining requirements and dates of the next rehearsal.

If you forgot to donate because it was so far in advance, could you please choose ONE of these themes and provide a donation. Baskets are located in each classroom.

A neighbourhood letter drop of postcards commenced on Monday 16 February.
Why not sign up for a distribution area? Sign up earlier to ensure you get the area that you want.

Carnegie Primary School’s letter drop has already commenced. Don’t let them out letterbox drop us. Let the competition begin!
Posters
A5 Carnival Posters are now available from the office. Please place at your work, kindy, swimming club, ballet, church, café, gym, doctors, dentist etc. Take a photo of where you have placed it, tag them and tag MPS Carnival Facebook page. Lets see who can get a poster at the most unusual place!
CALLING ALL BUDDING ARTISTS
Use your creative talents and enter the Carnival Flag Competition. Entries have been slow, so you have a very good chance of winning.
Challenge:
If Murrumbeena Primary School were a country, what would our flag look like? Using the template provided, (available from the office) design a flag and you'll be in the running to win ONE of SEVEN (yes that is one per grade level) Unlimited Ride Armbands for the MPS Carnival on the 14 March 2015! We will display all of the entries, prominently at the Carnival.

NOT ONE, BUT TWO CAKE COMPETITIONS!
1. Decorated Cake
-Maximum cake size 8 inches
-Square or round
-Single or double layered
-Judged on presentation & Xfactor
-No fresh produce in or on cake (fruit, cream, cream cheese etc)
-Must be baked within 2 days prior to fete day
2. Cake Tasting
-Maximum cake size 8 inches
-Square or round
-No fresh produce in or on cake (fruit, cream, cream cheese etc)
-Judged on taste, presentation & Xfactor
-Must be baked within 2 days prior to fete day.
*Please note that cakes will not be returned. Decorated cakes will be auctioned off/sold after judging has taken place. Tasting cakes will be cut into slices and available for sale at the Devonshire Tea stall during the day. Win Win!!!

So get baking! Entry Forms are available at the office. Entries are to be handed to school reception or your classroom teacher by Wednesday 4 March. Each entry will be given a 1x10 inch cake board and cake box for their cake to be transported and displayed. These will be given out on Friday 6 March. Entries will be given a number at time of registration so they remain anonymous. The names will be revealed after the judging has finished.
Entries must be delivered to the stall by 10am on fete day. Judging will take place between 10.30am & 11.30am. Decorated cakes will be judged first from 10.30, followed by tasting cakes at 10.45am.
Each entry must clearly state what type of cake has been submitted, and all ingredients used.
